How CheckMyPoo.com protects your privacy, handles your data, and fulfills legal requirements (including GDPR).

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

2. What Personal Data We Collect and Why

• IP Address: We automatically store your IP address for basic site functionality (voting, moderation, anti-spam, analytics, and for the "country/city" fun info under each upload). IP addresses are not shared or published.
• Nickname & Location: When you upload a photo, you can (optionally) enter a fun nickname and city/country. This is for entertainment only. Don’t use your real name if you want to stay anonymous.
• User Accounts (optional): If you choose to create an account (via email/password or social login), we store your username, email address, and account creation date. Accounts are entirely optional — you can browse and vote without one.
• Social Login (Google / Discord): If you sign in via Google or Discord, we receive your public profile from that provider (display name, email address, and a unique provider ID). We store only what is needed to link your account. We do not receive your password from these providers. See Section 4 for details.
• Uploaded Images & Descriptions: All uploads are public (except for moderation actions). Do not upload any content that could identify you or someone else.
• Transactional Emails: If you have an account, we may send you emails related to your account (e.g. upload confirmation, deletion links, or inactivity notices). We do not send marketing emails and never share your address with third parties.
• Contact Emails: If you contact us directly, your email will only be used to reply and will never be published or shared.

3. Cookies & Analytics

• Essential Cookies: We use cookies for site operation (e.g., keeping your rating, spam protection).
• Analytics Cookies: We use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track anonymized site usage (no personal info is sent or stored beyond your IP address, which is masked as much as possible).
• Advertising Cookies (if enabled): If ads are shown (e.g., Google AdSense), third-party cookies may be set by advertising partners to personalize ads and measure effectiveness. You will be notified and asked for consent if/when this happens.

4. Social Login — Google & Discord

We offer sign-in via Google and Discord using OAuth 2.0. When you use social login:

• You are redirected to Google or Discord to authenticate. We never see your password.
• After successful authentication, the provider shares your public profile with us (display name, email address, and a unique user ID from that provider).
• We store your username, email, and a reference to the provider (e.g. "google") and your provider user ID to link future logins to your account.
• Google: governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Discord: governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. How We Use Your Data

• To operate, improve, and secure the website.
• To enable core features (uploads, rating, moderation, fun geolocation display).
• To manage your optional user account and authenticate you on return visits.
• For anti-spam and security.
• For analytics and site improvement.
• If advertising is enabled, to serve relevant ads (see Section 3).

6. Who We Share Data With

• We do not sell or trade your data. Some data (like IP or cookies) may be shared with third-party service providers (hosting, analytics, advertising), but only as necessary for the website to function.
• Google / Discord (OAuth providers): When you use social login, these providers process your authentication. See Section 4 for details.
• Advertising Partners: If third-party ads are shown, advertising partners may process your data according to their own policies. See their respective privacy policies for details.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & Other Laws)

• You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data.
• You may request removal of your uploaded image if it contains personal info or violates someone’s rights (contact us: seposeres1@seznam.cz).
• You can withdraw consent for cookies or advertising trackers at any time (check your browser or our cookie banner settings).
• You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

8. Data Security & Storage

• Your data is stored on secure servers operated by our hosting provider. Access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
• We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, 100% security cannot be guaranteed online.
• We retain data only as long as necessary for website operation and legal compliance.

9. Third-Party Links

• This website may contain links to other sites (e.g., for privacy policies of analytics or advertising providers). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
